First Day of School

It has been a busy week but I am excited to post these first day of school pictures. Austin is now in first grade and Ryan is just starting preschool. Both were very excited about the first day. Ryan thought it was so fun taking pictures the first day that he asked me again on the second day. The last two pictures are of the second day. He actually asks me everyday now.....so cute:) Ryan is very excited about taking his lunch to school and Nelson has been making him little sandwiches cut in fourths. Austin has been helping me with little jobs around my classroom before and after school. It is really nice having him there.

San Diego KOA

The best part of our San Diego trip was spending time with family. We stayed in a small cabin with bunk beds. The kids thought this was great the first couple of nights but were sleeping with me in the big bed by the last night. Good thing Nelson was a good sport about sleeping in a bunk bed. We spent most of our time at Melissa's trailer by the fire with everyone. We had planned to go to the beach but the weather was overcast so we decided to stay at the campsite. We were able to spend most of the day with Gram and Grampa which is always nice. We also had some of the best Carne Asada ever....thanks Aunt Debbie and Amo!

LegoLand

It was our first trip to Legoland this summer. The kids had so much fun on the rides and exploring all the lego cities. Our cousins met us there so it was even more fun. Austin was picked from the audience to be a prince in a play. He of course was a natural. Ryan's favorite ride was the little cars that they could drive by themselves. There was a beautiful princess there and it was love at first sight for both of them. They were also inspired by what they saw at the park and have been building with legos ever since. Of course the teacher in me is very excited about that!

Mini Golf

I never know where the time goes in the summer but we have done some fun things this year. A couple of weeks ago our friends the Thompson's were visiting from Texas so we went to dinner and mini golf with them. I really admire Ryans dedication in trying to get the ball into the hole.

The Castle

The first grade classes at our school put on a play last month and one of the teachers Mrs. Goodall made a castle for a stage prop. When the play was over it sat there for awhile and then she asked if anyone wanted it. I brought home the castle because there is really nothing more fun than a large box for kids to play in....plus this one was decorated! Austin and Ryan played in it non-stop for days and days. They ate their snacks in there and played with their toys. I really think if it was big enough they would have moved into it!

The Globe Trotters

We had a great time going to the Globe Trotter game on Saturday. Thank you Tess and Bobby for the tickets! It was great to see our friends there. We had good seats but a worker came around and we got to move down to the floor. We were right on the court for the game. You could even feel the ball bounce. Austin and Ryan loved it! Their mascot "Globie" was so funny and so were the players. They each got to take home a small basketball that they have been playing with ever since.
